Welcome!

I’m a sound practitioner, somatic educator, multimedia artist, and interdisciplinary researcher exploring how sound, embodied movement, and co-creation can support healing and connection. Movement and self-expression have been central to my life since childhood. Diagnosed with sensory integration disorder, I was deeply intuitive but often struggled to manage the energetic information I absorbed from my surroundings. Movement became both a refuge and a language for navigating the world, even as feelings of shame and disconnection from my body’s natural rhythms created internal barriers. This early tension sparked a lifelong curiosity about the mind-body connection. Throughout high school and college, I was a multisport athlete and then personal trainer, cultivating a practical understanding of physical performance, while my musical training from a young age deepened my sensitivity to sound and rhythm as powerful tools for expression.

My academic background in cultural anthropology, education, and design introduced me to new ways of understanding the body—beyond mechanics and aesthetics—to include cultural meanings and embodied experience. This perspective expanded further when I encountered somatics and mindfulness practices, which shifted my relationship with movement from performance to authentic self-expression. Meditation, chanting, and somatic therapy became foundational to my personal and professional practice, grounding my work in lived experience as well as scholarly insight. Over time, I have woven together diverse strands—wearable technology, user-centered design, education, coaching, music, and somatic facilitation—into a cohesive approach that honors the whole person. Through this integration, I help others rediscover their bodies as sources of wisdom and creativity, unlocking pathways to healing, self-trust, and transformation.

I am also the founder and lead consultant of VIBES – Interdisciplinary Center for Therapeutic Sound, a pioneering initiative based at the Polytechnical Institute of Guarda (IPG) in Portugal. Grounded in co-design and radical knowledge sharing, VIBES unites researchers, clinicians, technologists, and artists to develop inclusive, evidence-based tools and methodologies that democratize access to sound-based care. Through EEG brainwave research, public programming, and international collaboration, my work with VIBES bridges innovation and tradition while remaining deeply human-centered. The project reflects values I have prioritized throughout my career—openness, cultural resonance, and interdisciplinary collaboration—ensuring that VIBES is not only scientifically rigorous but also meaningfully responsive to real-world challenges of the Guarda region, such as mental health, aging, and belonging. My unique blend of lived experience and professional expertise informs every facet of my work, enabling me to lead initiatives that integrate cutting-edge technology with embodied healing practices, making sound therapy a vibrant, accessible resource for diverse communities.
